Hiriketiya Beach is a public beach situated in Dikwella in the Matara district. It is a small beach with waves suitable for surfing. The surrounding area is calm and peaceful with a few restaurants and hotels. Hiriketiya Beach is a surfer’s paradise. For those who can excel the baby waves at Weligama, Hiriketiya has better waves to try out. There are quite a few places to rent surfboards for reasonable prices.
The neighboring town, Dikwella (known locally as Dickwella), has become a huge draw to people visiting Sri Lanka’s south coast.
