  • Day 1 - Negambo / Chilaw

    Welcome to Sri Lanka. On this day of your 11 days Sri Lanka tour, you shall start exploring its marvels. Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, an agent’s representative will greet you and guide you towards a luxury chauffeur-driven vehicle that will take you around the country.

    After breakfast stat to joinery to the Munneswara Temple in Chilaw. Munneswaram Temple, in existence since at least 1000 C.E. holds much significance to the Hindus of the country. Although many myths surrounding it associate it with the famous Indian epic Ramayana.Its legendary hero-King Rama, the temple is one of the five most ancient temples devoted to Lord Shiva in the region. The temple complex is a compilation of five temples, including a Buddhist temple.

  • Day 2 - Sigiriya

    The next morning you leave for Chilaw to Sigiriya. Also known as Sigiriya, Lion Rock or Lion Mountain. The cliff rises to an altitude of 1,144 feet, with a steep enough slope on both sides. King Kasyapa I built a palace in the form of a monumental lion .But someone called it Ravana Idikara, however, in 495 the first Sinhala king Kasyapa was defeated and the palace was destroyed. However, the place soon became a place of worship and is now a popular tourist destination.

  • Day 3 – Ritigala

    Early next morning, you will depart to Ritigala Sanjeevani Mountain (Ritigala Strict Nature Reserve). Ritigala Mountain is a designated Strict Nature in Sri Lanka having an area of 3,776 acres. Ritigala has significances from archaeological, historical, cultural, botanical and zoological aspects.

    Simply Ritigala is a nature reserve having much significant values and it boasts of archaeological. It is an also a very popular destination for unbelievable climate patterns. It boasts of 417 species of flora among which 337 are flowering plants, 5 are endemic and 3 only found in Ritigala.More than 100 species of birds are known to frequent Ritigala.Some of them are Sri Lanka Jungle Fowl and Sri Lanka Spurfow, The Great Raquet-tailed Drongo, Grey Hornbill, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Blue Faced Malkoha, Rufous Woodpecker, Rufous-bellied hawk-eagle and Mountain hawk-eagle.

  • Day 4 - Polonnaruwa

    After breakfast, you will depart to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Polonnaruwa.

    The second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by King Vijayabahu I, who defeated the Chola invaders in 1070 AD to reunite the country once more under a local leader. Over the following three centuries Polonnaruwa became a thriving commercial and religious centre, reaching its zenith under King Parakramabahu I in the 12th Century. He created beautiful parks, huge buildings and an enormous tank (reservoir) which acted both as a defensive border against intruders and as an important water source.

  • Day 5 - Dambulla

    Today you will drive towards  to visit the Dambulla cave temples en route. The Dambulla cave temples are another UNESCO World Heritage Site which date back to the 1st Century BC. This amazing complex of five caves was first used as a refuge by an ancient king who upon regaining his throne commissioned magnificent images to be carved from the rock. Later kings made further improvements and the caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha painted upon the walls of which the largest is a colossal figure spanning 15 metres. The hike up to the caves is short but steep. At the top you can explore the caves and enjoy spectacular far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside. Continue the drive to Kandy, stopping to visit one of the spice gardens in Matale on the way. A guide will show you around the garden, explaining about various plants and spices native to Sri Lanka.

  • Day 6 - Kandy

    Today You will arrive in Kandy.Sri Lanka’s second largest city, Kandy was the capital of the last Sinhalese Kingdom and enjoys a scenic setting around a lake surrounded by green hills. Home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, said to house Buddha’s tooth, each August the city also hosts the spectacular Perahera festival featuring dancers, firebreathers and lavishly decorated elephants. Late afternoon you will head to a local hall to watch a show of traditional Sri Lankan music, dance and drumming. Afterwards you’ll visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, known locally as Sri Dalada Maligawa, the most sacred temple in the whole of Sri Lanka. This important shrine boasts intricate carvings and beautiful Sri Lankan art. During the evening ‘puja’ throngs of pilgrims visit the temple to line up to glimpse the golden casket said to hold the sacred relic and to make offerings of flowers.

  • Day 7 - Nuwara Eliya

    Enjoy a delectable breakfast and gear up for an enchanting city tour. Your first stop for the day is the Horton Plains National Park, in the shadows of Sri Lanka’s second and third highest mountain ranges. The Horton Plains National Park, is a protected area covered by mountain grassland and cloud forest. This plateau at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 meters (6,900–7,500 ft.) and has been said by many to resemble the African savannah. The National Park is unlike any other in the island; it’s as beautiful as it is eerily, and offers a world that is oddly different from any other part of Sri Lanka.

    After you will visit Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple in Nuwara Eliya.It is one of the important Hanuman Temples in Sri Lanka located on summit of the very beautiful picturesque mountain in Ramboda 30 KM north to Nuwara Eliya.The special pooja conducted during the full moon Poya days is a grand event during which the statue of Lord Hanuman is nicely decorated with flowers and silk. 

    Proceed to visit Baker’s fall, Tea Plantations, Strawberry Farm, and Ambewela Milk Farm. Come back to the hotel for a peaceful night’s sleep.

  • Day 8 - Ella
    Today you will drive towards Ella.A trip to Ella wouldn`t be complete without a visit to the iconic Nine Arches Bridge The beautiful stone structure crosses tea fields and forest and offers spectacular views of the area. Come when the famous blue train crosses in the morning or for a fun photoshoot.
     

    After you will visit Rawana Waterfall. Ravana Waterfall is one of the main waterfalls to see in Ella.It is located in picturesque location. It is a perfect spot to enjoy some quality time.

    After Lunch You will visit Liptons Seat.It is a beautiful tourist attraction that offers awe-inspiring views of the surrounding tea fields. This place is perfect to witness the best of sunrise and sunset.

  • Day 9 - Kataragama
    The next morning you leave for Ella to Kataragama.First you will visit Kataragama temple. Kataragama is a temple complex devoted to Buddhist guardian deity “Kataragama deviyo” and Hindu War God Kathirkamam. . For Buddhists, the Kiri Vehera dagoba is situated on the site where the Lord Buddha once visited, while a Bo tree grown from a sampling of the Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura is also found on the grounds of the famous Kataragama Temple. The Kataragama Perehera is held in the months of July/August and is a festival that coincides with the new Moon in the Esala month.  This two-week Perahera attracts thousands - Hindus and Buddhists.
     

    After you will visit Yala national park.It is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park is best known for its multiplicity of wild animals. It is important for the preservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds. Dry season of May to August is the best period to see elephants.

  • Day 10 - Galle

    Today you will drive towards Galle.First you will visit Galle fort. Commonly referred to as the Dutch Fort, this is one of the most beautiful Galle attractions for being an amazing historical and archaeological site. A multi-ethnic population occupies it, and a tour through the fort is sure to impress you with its impressive age-old architecture. The site itself holds archaeological, historical as well as architectural significance, and it also has several attractions within its territory; from buzzing cafes, bookstores and restaurants to museums, gift and jewelry shops, hotels and offices built in the colonial-style architecture.

    Then next you will visit the Japanese Peace Pagoda.It is for all those people who are looking for inner peace and some time for contemplation. Peaceful structure built not so long ago is perched on top of the Rumassala. Hill from where you can see the spacious ocean and the thick jungles. You should ideally visit this place at dusk if you want to witness a breathtaking sunset. The aura at dusk is charming and rides one into another world of beauty. 

    Proceed to visit Galle lighthouse, Mahamodara sea turtle hatchery centre, Still Fishing,Hikkaduwa beach. Come back to the hotel for a peaceful night’s sleep.

  • Day 11 - Galle / Negambo

    After a delicious breakfast in the hotel, complete the check-out formalities. Proceed for your transfer to the airport as your 11 days in Sri Lanka tour package comes to an end.

    Bid goodbye to Sri Lanka as your mesmerizing journey comes to an end.
